My passion and privilege is to transform a house into a home and inject new life into commercial premises.
I have always been very visual and have loved drawing, design, colour and architecture for as long as I can remember.
I have always been very visual and have loved drawing, design, colour and architecture for as long as I can remember. So, after years of working in sales and marketing, I made the decision to study construction and interior design, achieving formal qualifications in both. In 2000, I took a leap of faith to pursue my dream, opening my own interior design business.
Initially focused on kitchen and bathroom design, my passion to see an entire house transform into a home my clients love inspired me to expand my service offering. My willingness to listen, attention to detail and desire to exceed expectations while delivering interiors true to the style preferred by my client, whether it be Hamptons, Coastal, Country, Luxe or Industrial, to name just a few, has resulted in a solid level of repeat and referred business. Over the years I have also established relationships with high quality suppliers, builders, architects, trade professionals and joiners on the Central Coast as well as in Newcastle, the Hunter, Lake Macquarie and Sydney, the areas I look after.
I am sometimes asked why I studied construction as well interior design. The answer is simple. Understanding the theory and practice of construction gives me the ability to communicate with builders and associated trade professionals in their ‘language’. It also allows me to present them with design concepts and plans, created in CAD, that leave no room for error or confusion, saving my clients time and money and giving them peace of mind that their project will be completed on time, within budget and in line with their vision. The result is happy clients and multiple award-winning interior design projects. I invite you to read through my testimonials to see what my clients say about working with me.
Over the years my expertise and service offering have expanded to include commercial interior design, specialising in the hospitality, aged care (including dementia care), health (including disability services) and corporate sectors. Highlight commercial projects include the Ken Duncan Gallery at Erina Heights, Berkeley Vale Private Hospital, Bethshan Aged Care Facility (Dementia Unit) at Wyee, The Vintage Golf Resort Apartments, Function Room and Boardroom in the Hunter Valley, George Brand Real Estate at Toukley, and Gosford Cardiology at Tuggerah.
My interest in sustainable passive design principles and working with natural materials aligns with my passion for minimising our footprint on the planet. This results in a focus on optimising natural light and thermal comfort in a home or business while minimising energy consumption for lower energy bills for my clients.
For the past few years I have written regular interior design articles for two Central Coast publications and am active in my local community, both in business and as a supporter of several charities.
